Schauen wir uns die wichtigsten Begriffe zusammen mit den Grundregeln des Spiels an. Ace : Aufschlag mit einem direkten Punktgewinn, bei dem es dem Spieler gelingt, den Ball in das gegnerische Feld zu schlagen, ohne dass der Gegner reagieren kann.
Break : Ein erhaltener Punkt, der dem Gegner während dessen Aufschlag abgenommen wird und mit als dem das game als gewonnen gilt.
Deuce : Punktegleichstand von , im Anschluss muss ein Spieler zwei Punkte machen, um das game zu gewinnen. Double fault Doppelfehler : Zwei aufeinander folgende Fehler, aufgrund dessen der Spieler einen Punkt verliert.
